Mikayla (she/her) is a filmmaker and photographer based in New York City.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, she cultivated her passion for visual storytelling while attending the prestigious Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, specializing in Cinematic Arts. She recently earned her degree in Film & Media Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
She has experience working on over 70 film sets, ranging from student short films, to union productions, and even professional MBA videos—which she did while serving as a Production Assistant for Haas Digital at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
Most recently, some of her photographs were featured in MAQET’s The Parlour Room for Bushwick Open Studios.
At the core of her artistic practice is an exploration of the human condition, with a deep commitment to amplifying underrepresented communities and voices through both film and photography.
